The fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro is a pony car produced by Chevrolet. Or is it.. ? Let’s define just what a pony is. A pony is a small horse and depending on context, a pony may be a horse that is under an approximate or exact height at the withers or a small horse with a specific conformation and temperament. With that being said, the original Pony car is an American class of automobile launched and inspired by the Ford Mustang in 1964 and broke all post-World War II automobile sales records. The term was originally used to describes an affordable, compact, highly styled car with a sporty or performance-oriented image. But our little pony of today, more affectionately known as a Fifth Gen Camaro SS was actually a *Panther in disguised to eat little ponies.

The Camaro left the court in 2002 to hit a private gym to undergone a laboratory growth hormone workout. Rumors were getting out that the workout training was taking shape, but before the big debut, we were reminded of the Camaro reign with the Camaro Z28 B-Boy Bumblebee character in the 2007 blockbuster movie, Transformers. In true Transformer fashion we were treated to a “press-view-replica” of what was to take full shape in 2009 with the big revile of the new 5th gen Camaro SS in the Revenge of the Fallen.

For extra street cred with power that is very usable, the Kraftwerks supercharger system takes the Camaro SS to SSS-status with 750+ horsepower range in very streetable fashion without the laggy lifter pants and string-tops!

THE SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM

The Kraftwerks intercooled  2010- 2015 Camaro SS supercharger system provides instant throttle response and a progressive power curve that increases all the way to redline without the typical spiking or surging turbochargers are known for. This unique, more useable power curve results in reduced cylinder pressures, less strain on engine components, and increased reliability. Rotrex superchargers also operate much cooler when compared to turbochargers and other supercharger systems, which reduces the engine’s intake air temperature as well as its risk of detonation. The heart of the system is the Rotrex C38-91, the largest supercharger offered from Kraftwerks, capable of supporting 700hp.

Each Camaro SS supercharger system is a comprehensive design and includes all necessary components to ensure safe, reliable operation. Standard-issue with each kit is a large, front-mount intercooler (3” inlet and outlet - 24x12x4” thick) to help ensure low intake air temperatures for optimal performance. All necessary aluminum tubing, silicone couplers, and clamps are also included for easy installation. Proper air/fuel ratios are ensured with the included Grams Performance 52lb/hr. fuel injectors, and an optional engine management system. Convenient, plug-and-play fuel injector adapters are also included, making each kit a true bolt-on experience.

Rotrex superchargers are renowned for their compact size, high adiabatic efficiency, low vibration, and quiet operation. Their unique traction drive technology is what makes all of this possible, which, unlike other superchargers, transmits power through frictional forces between its rolling elements. Each Rotrex unit features its own self-contained oiling system that remains independent of the engine. Its dual-action oil pump supplies traction fluid to the supercharger while the supplied cooler ensures proper fluid temperatures at all times.
